Strawberry and raspberry chia jam porridge
Why not start the day with a delicious bowl of strawberry and raspberry chia jam porridge?! It's not only super filling, full of nutrition but it's also so tasty! Chia seeds are high in omega-3 which helps to keep your body healthy and research has shown that it can help to prevent heart disease.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of oats
- 1/2 cup of a plant-based milk
- 3 tsp of water
- 2 tsp of flax seeds
- 1 tsp of chia seeds
- 1 tsp of agave syrup
- 1 tsp quinoa flakes
- Pumpkin seeds
- Strawberries.
Method: add warm water and a plant-based milk to your oats and leave them overnight. Mix in with the agave syrup, jam, flax seeds and chia seeds. In the morning, heat up your oats and add all of your favourite fruit, seeds/ nuts, quinoa flakes, melted chocolate or nut butter.
To make the chia jam: blend 1 cup of strawberries and raspberries in a blender OR with a fork and then add the chia seeds and syrup. Then, add the mixture in a pan over medium heat. Stir well and cook for five mins. Once cooked, let the jam cool for 5-10mins until it thickens. Voila! 👩🍳
